Session 1: Let Them Lead

(Pre-K to grade 3 teachers) In this workshop, participants will actively explore play through both the eyes of the participant and of the educator. Connections will be made to holistic development, play schema, and SK curriculum. 

Session 2: STORYTELLING MAKE & TAKE

Be prepared to create a variety of Storytelling materials for your Oral Language and Writing programs! These are based on the Power of Story workshop held in October, but attendance at that workshop is not a pre-requisite. Some of the items you will create: 

• Story Stones (stones provided)
• Mini-Settings (1 tin provided)
• Wooden Story Characters (wood disks provided)
• Peg dolls (provided)
• Felt or Foam characters (die cut machine on hand)

To help keep costs down PLEASE BRING: 

• A bag or bin to bring your items home in. 
• Material to cut on the die cut machine, anything scissors will cut (ie foam, felt, cardstock) in a variety of colors. The smaller (approx 5x7) pieces are better for putting through the die cut machine, but larger pieces can be cut smaller. Scraps work too!
• Small bottle of Modge Podge (avail. at Michael’s) Matte or glossy
• A pkg of foam brushes (Dollarama sells these)
• A small paint brush or two
• A coffee mug or cold drink cup (paper cups will not be provided).

Cost: $25.00 (plus 10.00 mandatory membership for one school-year) =$35.00

Students $25.00 (plus $5.00 mandatory membership for one school-year)=$30.00
